OSRS has been so far as applications and buy RS gold games goes – it is an essential part of the experience of exactly what OSRS for men and women, and although the customer is dated and bad. For lots of users, if they updated to a new client it would get rid of the sense and individuality of what’s OSRS. Do not piss off your present clients. OSRS already has practically no curb appeal for anybody who has not played RS before, and I would be missing, when they took away what made it feel like the OG. I came back because it was exactly as I remembered it (mostly). When a customer update was I’d be fucking missing and wouldn’t feel as inclined to find out that the janky system around again.
A third party client buy-out would bring about an increase but also for the company pride and also security of its customers. Normally, purchasing a business because they left something better to the game than you did yourself isn’t going to impress any investor about your internal development team and leadership team. Why didn’t leadership identify this and have one made internally Should they need a new client?
Nicely put. The OG customer is a pretty big deal. Not to RuneScape players that play with 12 hours a day for the last 5 years but for somebody logging for the first time in 15 decades. Exactly, and people very first time in RuneScape players would be the ones Jagex should hook for RuneScape to grow. It is a personal decision Should they choose to switch to something like RL. OSRS has to feel comfortable to bring back anyone. Completely disagree. You’re implying they need to increase their CAC to focus purely on bringing in RuneScape players when people may not be the largest gain to their profit. I will not make a claim since I haven’t seen their financial numbers and statistics but I would really like to see if the”sweaty” gamers burning bonds or membership for multiple accounts (main, ironman, HCIM, Leagues, etc.) do not actually out weigh their earnings derived from new RuneScape players.
You sound like someone who’d just be interested in lining up investors pockets and the next years profits instead of growing RuneScape for everybody. I’m reacting to a discussion being had about Jagex and OSRS as a organization. You’re being naive if you think the people who can flip the switch and turn off OSRS don’t care about profit then.
Offer a”legacy” client and a”updated” client, maybe? Just spit balling here, I agree with the majority of the points, however if Jagex desired to create RL an official customer they might still provide the old customer (or at least a skin of it). That would help to ensure the nostalgia or anything else it is that you like about the vanilla customer can be obtained while also giving fresh RuneScape players access to your customer with additional utility, without needing to worry about the dubious character of 3rd party customers in RuneScape. I agree that having choices is ideal. Unfortunately, it comes to the cash and maintaining two customers is money spent for minimal money returned, and likely is not worth the expense/headache. There is a reason one client is simply offered by rs 2007 gold companies with bigger games than Jagex, and it is only supported for a limited timeframe when they offer you a heritage customer.
