If you are playing World of Warcraft this weekend and see a legion of classic gold wow gnomes charging, do not worry–you’ve just found yourself in the middle of the Running of the Gnomes. It’s an yearly event where players roll race and out a gnome all the way to Booty Bay from Gnomeregan to raise money for breast cancer awareness. You can contribute here as well as racing. In 2017, the event was able to raise more than $16,000.
Since 2017 Blizzard has marked the occasion with a micro-holiday that occurs on every server, complete with cheering NPCs, although the player-run event only occurs on Scarlet Crusade-Feathermoon, so that’s where you will want to be if you need a lot of competition. It starts at 7 pm ET on October 12. There are just two WoWs today, of course, and Classic gamers will also have the ability to take part in the Bloodsail Buccaneers server. The path is somewhat trickier in Classic, but if you’ve already participated in the race you might be to get a new challenge.
The World of Warcraft 8.3 update is on the way, and with it, a shiny new Auction House. Blizzard has released an 18-minute video in which the game’s director, Ion Hazziokostas, reveals exactly what WoW’s incoming major update will completely replace the characteristic using a new Auction House system — and it seems like it is going to make player thing trading simpler.
In the video (via PCGamer, which you can check out under ) the game manager says the Auction House alter”isn’t only a UI reskin. We really redesigned and rebuilt the guts of this system to make to buy gold wow classic faster, more performant, and to get rid of those annoying single piles that literally nobody enjoys” –‘piles’ being packages of some of the most common trade items which have to be sold all in 1 go, or not at all, along with a feature of the existing WoW Auction House.
